Tom Hardy is a much loved actor and British heartthrob, but that doesn’t guarantee everyone will love his film.
The new comic film adapting Marvel comics – albeit not part of the celebrated Marvel Cinematic Universe – is Venom, which tackles the titular character last seen in films in the divisive Spider-Man 3.
In the new film, journalist Eddie Brock (Hardy) attempts to revive his failing career by investigating the shady dealings of the Life Foundation, but as a result he ends up bonded to an alien symbiote that gives powers to its host, but leaves him fighting with himself.
